Deacon Ernie Angiolillo was born and raised in Philadelphia. He lives with his wife of 49 years, Carole, and their younger daughter, Kim, in the Overbrook section of Philadelphia. Their older daughter, Mia, and her family live in California.
Ernie and Carole both attended Catholic grade schools, high schools and college in Philadelphia. Ernie graduated from St. Joseph's College and also earned graduate degrees at West Chester, Villanova and Temple University.
Deacon Ernie was ordained a permanent deacon in May 2009. He was assigned to and formerly served at Presentation BVM parish in Wynnewood. Ernie also continues to serve the Dean of the School of Diaconal Formation at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary.
There, Deacon Ernie coordinates various programs for the Dean, and teaches Homiletics to candidates in formation to the permanent diaconate. With Carole, he also serves as a deacon and wife presence at the candidates’ weekly class night.
Ernie is retired from his career in education. Over forty years, he taught, was a guidance counselor and school administrator in several school districts in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
