Altar Servers play an important role in the celebration of the Mass by assisting the priest and deacon, helping the liturgy flow smoothly and reverently. Their service at the altar—whether carrying the cross, holding the Missal, preparing the altar, or leading processions—helps focus the congregation’s attention on worship and prayer. By serving with reverence, attentiveness, and dedication, altar servers not only contribute to the beauty of the liturgy, but also grow in their own faith, learning the rhythms, symbols, and sacred traditions of the Church. This ministry is open to boys and girls starting in 4th Grade. Altar servers assist at Mass and at other liturgies.
Altar servers are expected to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to Mass and dressed appropriately for service. No sneakers or sandals. Basic dress shoes for gentlemen or flats for women. No bold graphics that will show through the alb.
